What dissent of yours was the most important one in your career?

A big chunk of "dissent" in my life is represented by my refusal to engage in conversations where my interlocutor expects me to be a cognitive superset of my team. Usually, people expect a manager/executive to know everything his/her team knows and to be aware of everything they're doing. On the contrary, I see this as a symptom of bad management and inefficient organization.
