Beyond Generic Chatbots: Lessons Learned Developing a Custom AI Assistant

In the rapidly evolving landscape of AI tools, chatbots have emerged as an important way of interaction with Large Language Models (LLMs). However, off-the-shelf solutions don’t always meet a company's unique requirements and objectives. Customizing a tool to align with specific user needs and organizational goals has therefore become an important task for both frontend and backend engineers.We will share the engineering perspective on developing a custom AI chatbot and highlight challenges and key learnings that we encountered along the way.
